At the level of the European Union, the European Disability Forum / EFI /, which is the main organization representing the interests of 80 million people with disabilities, lobbies together with others for the recognition of the rights of people with disabilities. The result is a specific treatment of discrimination based on disability in the Treaty of Amsterdam and the EU Directive on Equal Treatment in Employment and Employment, which prohibits all discrimination in the provision of employment on the basis of disability and promotes the provision of adequate conditions.
Article 26 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU /2000/ recognizes and respects the right of people with disabilities to benefit from the developed measures that guarantee their independence, social and labor integration and training with their participation in the life of the community. In 2010, the European Commission adopted the EU Disability Strategy 2010-2020, which aims to enable people with disabilities to benefit fully from education and participation in society and the European economy.
Obstacles of the subjective approach type will always exist as long as most people see the disability first and not the person

The European Union has ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, thus becoming the first regional integration organization to sign a human rights treaty18. All institutions and responsible representatives in the EU will have to recognize the values of the Convention in all policies within their competence and do everything possible to include people with disabilities in them: from transport to employment and from information and communication technologies to the development of cooperation. They also need to adapt and make their buildings accessible, as well as their employment and communications policies.
